Better After

Ok, again..for some reason, I cannot put my pictures in the order than I want them to go in....ughhhhhh!!! If anyone knows how, let me know. I've tried uploading them in every order, and it just never works. ANYWAY, John and I searched and searched for the perfect little, vintage dresser for our dining room. I finally found an adorable little 1930's number on Craigslist, but it was painted horribly. I would have probably left it red if it wasn't so shotty looking, but I'm THRILLED with what we decided to do with it.
My wonderful, hard-working hubby spent well over 8 hrs sanding this puppy, as it had at least six layers of paint on it. It seriously took forever. Then he taped and painted the Chevron pattern on for me...isn't he sweet? I think it looks awesome, and I never would have been able to do this good of a job myself. I promise you, my chevrons would have been all over the place!

LOVE.

Brownie Batter on a Rainy Day

What do a mother and son do on a rainy, cold day? Two things: make lots of tents in the living room, and eat brownie batter =0) I've been letting Levi help me in the kitchen as much as possible, and he LOVES it! I let him crack the eggs (a nightmare, but worth the mess), stir (again, not a neat endeavour), and pour in flour, oil, water, etc. I've even let him help me cut up veggies or hotdogs...me holding the knife, of course. But it's fun, just him and I, making this giant mess in the kitchen on rainy days. He loves thinking that he's "helping" me, and I love spending the time with him...so it's a win-win.

We're thrilled to announce that we'll be adding another boy to the fam! I'm totally out-numbered now, but I think it's going to be a blast. Good thing I'm a pretty energetic person. If this one is anything like Levi, we're in for a ride!

Project Complete

I've been working on this ABC wall project in Levi's room for a while now. I totally got this from Pinterest, but I painted all my own letters and made it unique to us. Believe it or not, the hardest part was finding all the letters and finding them on sale! I don't think I paid full price for a single letter. I watched the Hobby Lobby website like a hawk for the days when the letters I needed would be half price =0) I also decided to make my own life ring out of a Styrofoam ring and yarn. The painting took me an evening in front of the TV and about an hour the next day to put on the finishing touches. I love the way it turned out! Levi says he doesn't like it...=0) Oh well, when he gets older he can decide on the decor, but for now, Mama's in charge!
Oh...and I should probably give a shout out to my wonderful husband who hung all 26 letters...not the easiest job in the world, and his least favorite thing to do. Thanks, love!

Headwrap Love

For those of you who aren't facebook friends with me, I am making and selling headwraps and hair accessories. I've had lots of recent interest, and if it keeps coming, I will definitely open up an Etsy store. But for now, I'm just selling them through word of mouth and avenues like my blog, facebook, etc.

I can do lots of styles, colors, etc. You can pretty much custom order your headwrap.

I can do artificial flowers similar to this one.

If you are interested in buying one or more, just drop me a note! They are $8 for one, or $6 each for two or more. Plus $2 shipping for your entire order. Hope you likey!

Happy Love Day

This is my hubby. He's pretty adorable...even when he has a mouthful of Krispy Kreme donut.

This is me. I'm kind of a dork...and I was kind of way too excited for our Valentine's donut date.

And this is Levi...who came with us on our very romantic Valentine's donut date =0) He really liked his donut.

This is the super classy V Day "card" I made for John. But I mean every word of it.

This is the chalkboard mug I made for my hubby...even though the only hot drink he drinks is coco...but it was fun to make and I think it's cute =0)

I love lots of things about my life...this little guy is one of the biggest things. I try and thank God every day for my beautiful family. They love me even when I make mistakes over and over again. They love me first thing in the morning when I look like shiz. They love me no matter what.
And that, my friends, is the best V-Day gift, I could ever get.
