Just when you think you've seen it all...I'm always impressed the the VARIETY of choices in the States. Whenever I'm back for the summer, I'm bombarded with 84 choices of cereal, 237 choices of sliced bread, 52 choices of gum...the list goes on and on. Don't like what they have at this store, try another one. Hey, why not use one of your fancy shmancy apps and find what you want for the price you want before you even leave your house? Here...choices...not so much. In particular, the French don't do snacky stuff quite like Americans. And the chip department? Horrendous...and expensive! One thing we do have here is Pringles...never a shortage of these puppies. I'll be honest, they're not my favorite, but hey, beggars can't be choosers. You can imagine my surprise and delight when my sister-in-law brought this NEW and EXOTIC flavor of Pringles from the Philippines during her visit last month. I thought it was so crazy that I took the can around campus and had everyone try a pringle making them guess the flavor. The closest anyone got was "Fruity Pebbles?" Ha ha ha...so crazy. Like, who THINKS of this stuff. Who is sitting around a board table going..."Hmmm...we need a new chip flavor...let's go the fruit and nut route!" These were bizarre...think the bluest of blueberries with a salty tang...and the Hazelnut...couldn't even taste that.
